A native of Kokomo, IN, Matthew L. Bilodeau, M.D., Ph.D., returned to his Hoosier roots and joined Lutheran Health Physicians in July 2011. Dr. Bilodeau previously served as a staff cardiologist at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center and at Tri-City Medical Services LLC in Elyria, Ohio. He has also worked as a hospitalist and a house physician at Southern Hills and Saint Thomas medical centers, both in Nashville, TN.
Dr. Bilodeau completed bachelors' degrees in chemistry and biology at Ball State University in 1995. He earned a doctorate in philosophy in molecular and cellular biology at the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
Dr. Bilodeau was a research scientist in platelet and vascular biology at the Case Cardiovascular Research Institute.
